STRIKER Craig McAllister was on the scoresheet as United won 2-0 at Witney United in their friendly.
Darren Patterson gave Jamie Hand an hour for his debut in midfield.
Despite only meeting his teammates half an hour before kick-off, Hand gave an assured performance alongside the impressive Adam Murray, hitting a post with a 34th-minute effor.
Hand also played a part in United's opener, providing the perfect through ball for McAllister to lob Witney's 'borrowed' keeper Sam Warrell from 20 yards.
Warrell, United's back-up keeper, then defied his own side by saving Richards's 56th-minute penalty after Michael Blackwood had been felled in the box.
Warrell switched sides to replace Billy Turley, with another United keeper, James Foster, replacing him in Witney's goal.
Foster's night got off to a bad start though as two other Oxford subs combined for the second goal.
Sam Deering provided a fine cross for Eddie Hutchinson to loop his header over the stranded Foster.
United had therefore scored twice, both past different keepers who play for them!
