OXFORDSHIRE Under 16s fell to a 1-0 defeat at Gloucestershire in their South West Counties Youth Championship game, but were left wondering how they failed to win.
Only superb goalkeeping by the home side's Daniel O'Brien kept Oxon out - Corey Forbes, Lyle Gifford (twice) and Chris Brougham all seeing chances saved.
But after seeing Gloucestershire reduced to ten men, Oxon's defence were made to pay for a momentary lapse 13 minutes from time when the hosts scored the only goal of the game.
