SAM Short hit a late equaliser for Vale of White Horse Under 13s as their Meeson Trophy clash against Swindon finished in a 1-1 draw at Milton United.
An excellent tackle and pass by Billy Cooper two minutes from time sent Short racing away, and he held off a challenge before placing his shot inside the far post.
Vale had controlled the second half with a following wind, but they failed to create chances, and Swindon took the lead with a low shot from ten yards.
In the first half, Swindon held the upper hand with the wind behind them, but Vale allowed them few openings with Jack Smith to the fore.

With the wind behind them in the first half of Saturday's clash at Oxford Brookes Westminster Institute of Education, Vale enjoyed the upper hand and Alex Thomas and Ashley Bayliss had good efforts saved.
Luton forced the pace after the break, and Tyler Josephs ghosted in to head home the opening goal from a corner.
Jared Jones, Owen Shaw and Scott Grove went close for Vale, before Luton sealed victory when Abraham Eze smashed a cross shot past Eddie Cavanagh with the last kick of the game.
