OXFORD United are cautiously optimistic about Marcus Browne’s knee injury.
The winger went for a scan on Thursday after he was forced off during the second half of Tuesday’s defeat to Lincoln City.
The results were more positive than initially feared and Browne will see a specialist next week to determine the full extent of the injury.

U’s head coach Karl Robinson said: “The scan was good, so as we sit right now his cruciate is in tact, which was our first concern.
“There’s still an element of looseness to it, but we’re very happy with the outcome (of the scan).
“We’ve got to make sure we do this right, he’s due to see another specialist on Friday and we’ll have more news after that.
“It’s not a case of everything’s rosy, it’s positive from where we thought we were.
"We’ll see where that takes it when he sees Andy Williams – the surgeon who looked after his knee in the first place - on Friday.”
There were fears Browne had suffered his second anterior cruciate ligament injury in less than two years, having missed 13 months from January 2021 to this February.
The 24-year-old played the final three games of last term and started the first four Sky Bet League One matches of the new campaign.
