OXFORD United have signed Kyle Joseph on a season-long loan.

The 20-year-old striker joins the U’s from Sky Bet Championship side Swansea City.

The South Wales outfit have the option to recall him in January.

Joseph has not played this season and was left out of the Swansea side for Thursday's Carabao Cup defeat at United.

The forward, who has represented Scotland up to Under 21 level, is the club's eighth summer signing.

Joseph is also the second loanee through the door, after Lewis Bate arrived from Leeds United last Thursday.

He provides much-needed depth in attack, with Matty Taylor the only fit senior striker at the club.

Joseph came through the ranks at Wigan Athletic and made his breakthrough in the 2020/21 season, following the Latics’ administration-enforced relegation to Sky Bet League One.

The forward scored five goals in 20 games to earn a move to Swansea last June for a reported fee of £500,000.

He made two Carabao Cup appearances before he was loaned to League One side Cheltenham Town on deadline day.

Joseph featured regularly for the Robins, scoring four goals in 22 matches, and was recalled early from his season-long deal.

He made a further ten appearances off the bench in the second half of last term.
