Jon Lambden has quit as Henley Hawks' director of rugby with the club battling to avoid relegation from National 2.
Henley have appointed former Welsh international flanker Jason Forster as player-head coach in his place and he takes charge of Saturday's home clash with leaders Otley.
Lambden's (pictured) departure comes after a poor run of results, which saw Henley slip into the bottom three, although they did win their last game at Halifax.
A former member of the Wasps and Saracens coaching staff, he led Hawks to the brink of promotion last season, but he has not been able to reproduce that form.
A club statement said: "Jon Lambden has relinquished his post as director of rugby of Henley RFC with immediate effect.
"Henley RFC thank him for his valuable contribution over the last two years or so."
Forster, who is 37 on Monday, was captain and forwards coach with National 1 Doncaster Knights last season where he scored 25 tries as they finished third in the table.
Before that he captained Newport Gwent Dragons and won a senior cap for Wales as well as leading their sevens team to Commonwealth Games gold.
