Oxford Hawks Ladies hammered Hampstead & Westminster 4-0 in South Clubs League Division 1.
From the first whistle, Hawks looked strong, driving forward at every opportunity.
They struck after only five minutes, with Fi Walton finishing well with her reverse stick past the advancing keeper.
Hawks slowed a bit after that, but Claire Collis and Mandy Hamilton-Martin were in superb form in the core of the defence, picking up all the pieces and making excellent tackles at key moments.
Just before half-time, Alex Baird saw yellow for a stick tackle.
After the break, back to the full complement of 11, Hawks played some lovely hockey.
Amy Bryant skilfully placed the ball on a defender's foot to earn a short corner, which Henri Coles struck just over the keeper's body.
Hawks then upped a gear and Baird scored twice - first in a goalmouth scramble, then from a short corner, deflecting in Vicky Newton's pinpoint pass at the far post.
Banbury conceded two goals in the last two minutes from short corners as they went down 4-2 to leaders Teddington in Division 2. Sophie Williams and Kristina Flynn got Banbury's goals.
