Abingdon Utd 0
Hillingdon Boro 0
Abingdon United ended their run of defeats in Division 1 South & West by securing a welcome point in an entertaining goalless draw.
The early stages belonged to Hillingdon as James Duncan's 20-yard shot hit the bar.
With Abingdon keeper Lee Farrow left helpless on the ground, the follow-up header from Michael Murray went wide.
At the other end, Borough keeper Barclay Lawrence dropped the ball and James Organ, with his back to goal, spun and crashed the ball against the visitors bar. The ball bounced down on the line and was thumped away.
Aaron Posey and Matty Taylor went close as Abingdon pressed late in the first half.
Hillingdon took charge in the second half, and after a fine save by Farrow from Leon Nelson, they conspired to miss three chances within less than a minute.
It looked as though Abingdon were about to be overrun when Sam Byfield screwed another chance wide as well.
As the game entered the last 20 minutes, Abingdon at last got back on terms and managed to hang on for a draw.
