It was quite a different story from last week on the Branson's Meadow stretch of the Cherwell where Kidlington staged their Green Road Social Club-sponsored Open on Sunday.
The nine matchmen found a river that was still quite pacy but was getting clearer and it turned out to be a struggle.
Using a small feeder filled with crumb and punch on the hook, Alan Middleton had two roach, then switched to a feeder with chopped worm and lobworm to land three bream for a match-winning 15.0.0.
Legering maggot, Ron Hillier caught four dace and three bleak worth 0.12.12 for second, while third, with 0.7.8, was Phil Blackman. He fished the pole with maggot and had five roach and a gudgeon.
Oxford Bus AC fished their match on the backwater at the School' where Anthony Tompkins took the honours with 10.15.0.
He fed mashed worm and fished either worm or maggot over the top, his bag of silver fish supplemented by two perch of 2.3.0 and 2.1.0.
Also fishing the pole with worm, Nick Brooks landed some nice perch, roach and skimmers for a second-placed 7.0.0, followed by George Kingston with 2.14.0 of pole-caught perch and roach.
Oxford Waltonian were on the Thame for their Holt Mill Championship and that, too, was hard work for the 11 anglers, with the river pushing and getting very clear.
Acorn Angling's Tony Gee landed the championship with two chub weighing 9.13.0 - one on pole and worm and the other on legered worm.
With two chub worth 5.13.0 on legered flake, Ray Ellis took second spot, while Paul Bowers caught a chub of 5.0.0 on pole and maggot for third.
The canal at King's Bridge was the venue for North Oxford AS v Witney match which attracted a good turn-out of 21 anglers.
After the frosts, the canal had cleared and it was tough for everyone, except Henry Clarke who was pegged on the pipe.
Feeding chopped worm, he fished the pole with worm and netted four perch weighing 6.15.0.
Also getting amongst the perch was Dave Scott-Picton, who had three of them on worm for a second-place 4.8.0.
Witney's Dean Bowerman took a couple of perch on worm for 4.2.0 and third.
Cuddesdon Mill VAA were on the Thame at Chiselhampton for their Bob Gibson Cup which went to Brian Horseman with two chub on legered bread for 5.5.0.
Alternating between bread and cheesepaste, Mick Harding banked three chub for a second-placed 4.9.0, followed by Peter Price with a 4.2.0 chub on the waggler with maggot.
Jolly Anglers were hosts for the latest Berks/Oxon match, the Tolley Cobbold, fished by 12 on their Oxford reach of the Thames.
Fishing the groundbait feeder with maggot, Dougie Cook had a 5.0.0 chub which won the match, while Bob Wyatt weighed in a chub and a skimmer worth 4.7.0 for second.
In third place was Ian Fisher, who tackled up with a cage feeder and liquidised bread with flake to land a roach and a chub for 3.6.0.
