Spending 36 hours on the side of a lake in freezing conditions is not everyone's cup of tea, but that's what Bedford carper Cliff Kemp did when he tackled Richworth Linear's Brasenose One at Stanton Harcourt.
Landing a couple of decent carp in these conditions would be considered pretty good, but Cliff did better than that, capturing 40 of them up to 25lb.
Baiting up an area about 80 yards from the bank with a spod and keeping the area topped up, he used a Cotswold Bait Creation Technipops tutti fruiti pop-up which was attached to a size 10 hook and supple braid hooklink placed in a PVA bag.
Besides the 25-pounder, Cliff netted another weighing 20.3.0 while the rest were mid to upper doubles.
Brasenose One is a day-ticket water which you get on the bank.
