Anie Gowing sealed victory for Frilford Heath in their 3.5-1.5 Mail on Sunday Classic first-round win at home to Goring & Streatley.

The five-handicapper finished one up against Goring's Helen Jacobs, who could have halved the match.

Other Frilford wins came from Jane Binning and Sue Russell, with Amada James securing a half.

In the men's competition, Chipping Norton beat The Wychwood 5-0.

ANDY Brooks bagged a hole-in-one during Chipping Norton's Professional's Swindle - but still finished outside the top three.

Brooks achieved his feat on the par-three 15th hole of the event won by Richard Smeeton.
