Thame United's search for a permanent home could soon be over, if plans for a new ground get the green light.
Since landlords Coleman Properties repossessed Windmill Stadium in 2005, the Hellenic League Division 1 East club have been forced to ground-share, firstly at Aylesbury United and then with AFC Walllingford at the Hithercroft.
The new proposal has been put together by TFP, an amalgamation of Thame Boys, Youth & Girls and Thame United, and involves developing a 20-acre piece of land at Church Farm on the northern edge of the town.
If the plan, due to be submitted in the next few weeks, is approved, the club could move in by the start of the 2009-10 season.
Money for the project, which would comprise a floodlit main pitch up to Southern League standard, a full-size floodlit artificial pitch, three additional full-size grass pitches and four small size pitches, would come from a variety of sources.
Additional funds are still required for the full project costs.
