Rover Oxford slipped to two heavy England Slazenger League National North Division defeats at the weekend, losing 5-0 at home to leaders Cannock and then 7-2 in Sunday's rearranged game at Nottingham Highfields.
Rover kept Cannock at bay until the 28th minute then they slotted in two goals before the break.
In the second half, tired Rover legs showed and they were unable to keep out the fast attacking play from Cannock's forwards.
Rover started in lively fashion in Nottingham, after a good overnight rest, and scoed first with a penalty stroke from Laura Smyth.
However, Nottingham hit back and scored twice from fast breaks before half-time.
Nottingham's slick passing and running then proved too much. But Rover didn't give up and Rebecca Demzcak converted a short corner.
Oxon under 13 Girls Development Squad beat Gloucs 1-0 at St Edwards School with Amy Williams giving them a deserved victory following a hard-working performance.
In the Trysports 3 Counties League, Oxford Hawks Ladies couldn't put their shots away as they fell to a 4-2 Division 1 defeat at Epsom, who are pushing hard for promotion to the National League.
Hawks started well. Amy Bryant had several breakaway attacks, but failed to convert, and Kathryn Poulter had a good drive down the right but missed the far post by inches.
Hawks seemed to tire in the surprising February heat and Epsom took their chances to convert two quick goals in open play.
Hawks were rattled and Epsom knocked in another two goals in the second half before Hawks upped a gear.
Henri Coles' free hit outside the area found Hannah Williamson who tipped the ball in to claw a goal back. Moments later at a short corner, Williamson knocked in her second goal.
In Division 3A, Banbury beat West Witney 4-1 thanks to Nicola Park (2), Natasha Nunneley and Ann Glover.
Meanwhile, Rachel Lammey bagged a brace as City of Oxford came from a goal down to win 4-2 at Wallingford in Trysports 3 Counties League Premier 1. Vicki Quantrell and Jenny Flowers also scored.
