Former Oxford City defender Richard Peirson says he is determined to put the record straight when his new side Didcot Town visit Court Place Farm in today's Southern League Division derby encounter, writes Nick Farrant.

Earlier in the season, Didcot were held to a 3-3 draw by City in their first Division 1 South & West encounter, with Peirson's unfortunate deflection seeing City level late on.

Peirson, 31, is well used to big games, having been part of the City side that took Wycombe Wanderers to two FA Cup replays in the late 1990's.

"Every time I have been back to play at City I haven't played well, so I'm hoping to put that right," said Peirson.

"I am sure our quality will shine through and I'm confident we can get the three points.

"I still have a lot of old friends at City, mainly among the committee.

"When I went back there in the Errea Cup, they even invited me into the boardroom for a cup of tea!"
