Eynsham were whitewashed 3-0 by hosts CCC A in the Oxford & District League, but the contest was much closer than the scoreline suggests.
Arthur Coakley (+90) got CCC off to a winning start when he defeated Geoff Watson (+90) 150-100.
The second game was won by Dick Hashman (-10) by a whisker as he sneaked past Mick McCluskey (+90) 200-199.
McCluskey made a good start but Hashman got going and breaks of 22, 24, 25 and 29 put him in touch.
Both players had chances to win it at 199 each, but Hashman prevailed.
The ever-reliable Keith Pearce (+60) completed the job by outscoring Roy Gascoyne (+110) 150-133.
CCC B, now in second place in Division 2, went to HCC A and beat them 2-1 thanks to wins from Neil Kirby (+110) and Brian Mabbutt (+20) in the opening two games.
Kirby got the better of Paul Caria (+100) 100-96, while Mabbutt beat Terry Walsh (+90) 200-176, making a useful 33 break.
The final frame went to HCCA when John Williams )+70) just held off Ken Olive(+60) 150-141.
