SAM Long is set to have a scan today as Oxford United assess the extent of an ankle injury.

The right back was one of four senior players to miss the friendlies against North Leigh and Banbury United on Saturday after scoring against Oxford City the previous weekend.

Sam Baldock, Anthony Forde and Alex Gorrin were the others who did not feature, while Marcus McGuane came off against North Leigh after taking a knock to the knee.

Karl Robinson revealed Long was the only fitness concern heading into the friendlies against Hungerford Town tomorrow, Eastleigh on Wednesday and Coventry City on Saturday.

United's head coach said: “Longy had a knock on his ankle, we’ll see how that is. He’ll have a scan on Monday.

“Fordey’s fine, Sam Baldock’s fine, Marcus will be fine.

“Alex Gorrin’s been training wonderfully well and he should hopefully be available to play next week.”

Gorrin's return to action will be the first time the Spanish midfielder has played since sustaining an anterior cruciate ligament injury last November.
