The game falls between United’s opening Sky Bet League One home match against Cambridge United on August 6, and the trip to Bristol Rovers four days later.
The U’s and Swansea are both former winners of the competition, lifting the trophy in 1986 and 2013 respectively.
They last met in the Emirates FA Cup third round in January 2016, when United pulled off a famous 3-2 victory over a side then playing three divisions above them.
Swansea finished 15th in the Championship last season.
