Oxfordshire A were hammered 26-10 by Cornwall in their English Short Mat Association Inter County Competition quarter-final at Pucklechurch Village Hall, Avon.
It was a disappointing end to the season for Oxon, who had promised so much in easily winning their group, as they were hammered 217-142 on shots.
John Cole was pipped 11-10 in his opening singles, while Peter Collett, Betty Dibley, Mick Evans and Bridget Evans's four edged home 7-6.
But Oxon lost all their other matches.
The second session was no better for Oxfordshire with only Jan Hayward and Barry Hayward winning 14-11.
At half-time Oxfordshire trailed 12-4, and were in need of something special in the final two sessions to salvage victory.
Norman Cottrell won his singles 14-11, and Delia Dews, Marie Weller, Chic Iles and Gary Mason took their fours 15-8, but with the other two games lost Oxfordshire were beaten.
In the last session, Don Sirett, Dave Sims and Eric Hasker won 10-8, but this was scant consolation.
