ANDRE Burley has become Oxford City’s first new signing of the summer.
The centre back, 22, arrives at Court Place Farm after being released by Sky Bet League One play-off finalists Wycombe Wanderers at the end of last season.
The Saint Kitts and Nevis international played four first-team games for the Chairboys in 2021/22, before going on loan to Maidenhead United in the Vanarama National League.

But it was a temporary move to Vanarama National League South rivals Hungerford Town the season before that helped lay the groundwork for Burley’s City switch.
The defender said: “I’m really excited to join a club like Oxford City.
“I spoke to my agent and Ross (Jenkins, City head coach) and this is a great opportunity for me to get back to playing regular football and enjoying football again.
“Last year, I was on loan at Hungerford and played against Oxford City, and I noticed that they moved the ball around nicely.
“When my agent told me that Oxford were interested, I said I’d love to come here and play and show what I’m about.”
Burley came through Reading’s youth system and played two games for the club’s Under 21 side in the EFL Trophy in 2017/18, before making three Emirates FA Cup appearances in 2019/20.
He went on loan to Irish side Waterford before joining Wycombe in late 2020.
Jenkins said: “Andre has great pedigree and has come from a very good club in Wycombe.
“I’ve watched a lot of him and now was the right time to approach him.
“We’ll be good for his development, and he’ll develop us with the way we play. He has some great attributes.”
City have already re-signed seven members of last season’s squad, while Zico Asare, Elliot Benyon, Ewan Clark and George Harmon have all moved on.
