GEORGE Harmon has left Oxford City to join Scottish Premiership club Ross County.

The left back has signed a two-year deal north of the border after an excellent season at Court Place Farm.

The transfer fee is officially undisclosed, but the Oxford Mail understands City will be paid a five-figure sum.

Harmon is the third player to leave the club for money this summer, following Zico Asare’s move to Maidenhead United and Ewan Clark’s switch to Bristol City.

It comes after the 21-year-old made a big impact in his only campaign at Court Place Farm, scoring six goals in 42 appearances and winning the supporters' player of the season award.

He told the club's official website: "I want to say a massive thank you to the players, coaches and all the staff around the club for an unforgettable season last year both on and off the pitch.

"A special mention goes to the fans who have made me feel so welcome from the first day I stepped foot through the doors and have followed us around the country.

"Oxford City is a special club and I will always have fond memories of my season here and I hope that the club can finish what they started and get promoted next season."

Harmon arrived last August from West Bromwich Albion, where he came through the youth system to play well over 50 games for the club’s Under 23s.

The defender joins a side who finished sixth in the Premiership last season.
