ELLIOT Benyon will leave Oxford City this summer.

The experienced striker is set to depart when his contract expires, bringing to an end a near three-year spell at Court Place Farm.

Benyon, 34, scored five goals last season, including a wonder strike from halfway against Slough Town on Boxing Day and the opener in City’s Vanarama National League South play-off eliminator win over Eastbourne Borough.

Co-owner and director of football Justin Merritt told the club’s official website: “Elliot has been amazing for the club ever since he joined and one of the best signings we’ve made.

“On the pitch he’s been brilliant, but off the pitch he’s an even better person.

“We thank him for everything he has given us during his time here and wish him the very best of luck for the future.”

Benyon added plenty of Football League experience to City’s ranks, having played for Southend United, Torquay United and Swindon Town.
