Wallingford beat Abingdon 3-2 in Division 1 of the South League to leapfrog their rivals on goal difference.
Wallingford raced two up with strikes from Nick Golding and John Brown.
Midway through the second half, Abingdon hit back when Will Trigg netted from a penalty corner.
However, Wallingford restored their two-goal lead when James Lanyon's shot went under the foot of Abingdon's keeper at a penalty corner. Trigg scored a second for Abingdon, forcing the ball over the line from close range.
City of Oxford recovered from two down to draw 2-2 at Bracknell. A long hit was deflected in by Andy McNamee, then John Butt scrambled in an equaliser ten minutes from time.
Witney moved fourth after beating Mill Hill 5-3 while Bicester lost 4-1 at Leighton Buzzard.
