Didcot Town kept up the pressure on second-placed Oxford City with a hard-fought win against the Division 1 South & West strugglers.

The victory closed the gap on their Oxfordshire rivals to four points.

Early on, Didcot keeper Michael Watkins kept out Adam Crittenden.

Didcot, who saw striker Michael Bartley complete a move to Farnborough on Friday night, took the lead when Richard Peirson slid in an Ashley Vine knockdown.

Anaclet Odhiambo had an effort ruled out for off side.

Just before the break, Paul McCarthey kept out Liam Hope's curling shot with a superb finger-tip save.

In the second half, Odhiambo was denied once again by McCarthy.

After Odhiambo was denied a goal for offside, Andy Williams headed home Matt Bicknell's cross for their second.

Odhiambo was again denied by McCarthy.

Bracknell sub Joel Havermans was tugged back by Watkins, but the referee waved away the protests.

Richard Witt fired home No 3 and late on.
