THE Oxford Mail player ratings for Oxford United’s 1-1 draw with Doncaster Rovers in Sky Bet League One.
JACK STEVENS
Some decent stops either side of half-time, although you would expect him to save most of them. Question marks over the equaliser and flapped at a few crosses and set-pieces – 6
LUKE MCNALLY
Dominant in the air as usual, drove forward occasionally without worrying Doncaster too much. A couple of shaky moments after the break, but generally tidy – 6.5

SAM LONG
Quietly went about his business and noticeably talked Golding through the game. Kept United moving and one Cruyff turn on the edge of his own penalty area was very smart – 6.5
JAMES GOLDING
A very impressive debut from the 17-year-old. Kept his head after a couple of mistakes and showed real confidence in possession. On another day he scores the winner and claims an assist for Williams. MAN OF THE MATCH – 7.5
RYAN WILLIAMS
Bright in spells and unlucky to see an effort come off the post, but his end product was not always there. Doncaster had some joy down his flank in both halves – 6.5
MARCUS MCGUANE
Nice touch to get United moving for the goal. Kept the ball well without having much impact in the final third. Needs to be more assertive in possession next season – 6.5

CAMERON BRANNAGAN
Skied a difficult early chance and his direct running helped the U’s open the scoring. Looked dangerous cutting in on his right foot but unable to force that second goal – 6
STEVE SEDDON
Reasonable performance in his first appearance for seven weeks. Linked well with the players on his flank and worked hard defensively – 6
BILLY BODIN
Capped a good second half of the season with another goal. Got himself in the right place to score and his quick feet caused problems. Hopefully more of the same in 2022/23 – 7
MATTY TAYLOR
Unexpectedly quiet, his only two efforts on goal were straight at Mitchell. Did not get too much service from the flanks or those behind him – 5.5
MARCUS BROWNE
Showed good energy and power to win a couple of lost causes. He was often fouled before he could get up a head of steam, but managed three shots that failed to test Mitchell – 6
SUBSTITUTES
Gavin Whyte (for Browne, 62)
Did not affect the game much, moved out to wing back after 15 minutes – 5
Gatlin O’Donkor (for Williams, 77)
Unused: Eastwood, Mousinho, Brown, Forde, Holland.
Substitutes must come on before the 75th minute to get a rating.
