MOMENTUM is the keyword for Jordan Flynn in 2022.
The Cowley boxer is aiming to contest up to six fights this year, with 23-year-old Romanian Constantin Radoi next up on Saturday in Bracknell.
Flynn’s points win over Marian Marius Istrate in February took him to 4-0 as a professional boxer and he is keen to add to that record in the coming months.
The lightweight regularly trains with top fighters like Conor Benn and Joe Cordina in the gym in Essex, but he knows there is no substitute for the real thing.
Flynn said: “I think it’ll help me, because right now it’s about getting the rounds in the ring and the real experience of fighting.
“I’ll be ready for bigger and better challenges.
“I’m sparring at a high level day-in, day-out. This year I need to explode onto the scene.”
Flynn took a week off after beating Istrate, but was soon back in the gym as he eyed his next bout.
He was due to fight in Kent next Saturday, only to change his plans when the show was cancelled after MTK Global ceased operations.
Flynn said: “It was a stressful few days, but I wanted to keep the fights coming and build up some momentum. Things fell into place.”
The rising star is not the only Oxfordshire boxer in action in Bracknell.
Young prospect Ciaran Flanagan has waited over six years to make his professional debut after his original attempt was stifled by a hand injury as a teenager.

He originally registered as a professional aged 18 but had to pull out four weeks because of the issue.
As time went on, the now 24-year-old was plagued with a reoccurance of the problem, leading him to believe he would never make it as a pro.
However, over time, Flanagan slowly became re-introduced to combat sports and now that his hand is holding up, he is ready to make his debut at the second time of asking.
He signed with boxing promoter and manager Mark Neilson last year and is set to feature on the same card as Flynn, in Neilson Boxing’s latest show.
Flanagan has been working with his coach for seven months to prepare for this weekend’s bout against Bradford’s Jake Pollard.
Neilson said: “I’m really excited to see Ciaran finally make his debut.
“He’s had to wait longer than most and it’ll be a really big occasion for him.
“He’s been working day-in, day-out with his trainer, so I’m expecting a solid performance from him at the weekend.”
