OXFORD Quins 3rd continued a successful season for the club by securing the Berks, Bucks & Oxon 3 North title in their first campaign back in the division.
The Horspath Sports Ground outfit sealed the championship with a 26-5 victory at Chinnor 4th, before their final scheduled match was cancelled when opponents Harwell could not field a team.
Nevertheless, it was a winning return for the 3rds, seven years after they last played in the Berks, Bucks & Oxon leagues.
The players were presented with a trophy from the club’s cabinet last Saturday, after watching the first XV beat Bracknell to take another step towards the South West 1 East title.
Quins’ top team go to basement boys Buckingham in their penultimate game of the season this weekend.
The first XV can clinch the title if they win and Banbury Bulls lose to 11th-placed Windsor at home.
Meanwhile, Witney will look to continue an excellent first season back in South West 1 East as they host county rivals Grove.
The west Oxfordshire side are fifth, while their opponents are in a three-way battle at the bottom.
In Southern Counties North, Wallingford welcome Aylesbury, Bicester host Marlow and Gosford All Blacks travel to Stow on the Wold.
Elsewhere, Chinnor will be aiming to dent Rosslyn Park’s title charge in their penultimate National League 1 home game of the season.
The visitors are third, while the Thame-based outfit have won their last two matches at Kingsey Road.
In National 2 South, Henley Hawks host second-bottom Barnstaple as they look to regain fifth place.
