THE head instructor at Wantage-based Vale Taekwondo can see the school getting stronger after securing victory at a national championship.
Vale TKD was one of 49 schools to take part at the International Taekwondo Federation’s English Open.
Head instructor Carl Davis was overjoyed by Vale TKD picking up 15 golds, 10 silvers and 15 bronze medals across the weekend at Guildford Spectrum.
This followed on from the British Taekwondo Championships in November, where Vale TKD were crowned the number one school.
Meanwhile, five Vale TKD students are set to represent England at forthcoming European Championships in Croatia.
Davis said: “I’m proud of my school, as we came up against larger schools which can enter more students.
“I’m proud of the hard work that’s gone into this and it’s good momentum for the championships in Croatia, and a good confidence builder.

“I’ve been teaching for 10 and a half years and it’s been my goal to establish a school that competes to win.
“I want this momentum to continue, being the top school, and I can see us getting stronger as a school and the students continuing their success.
“I’m very proud of them, we’re a small school but we’re still winning.”
Naveh Kraus led the way for Vale TKD, with two gold medals and a silver, while Davis himself also won two golds and a silver.
