OXFORD’S Jason Ou underlined his England number one ranking by taking gold at an under-17s badminton tournament in Nottingham.
He produced a superb performance to take the boys’ singles gold in the gold star section.
Ou then teamed up with Surrey’s Jia Bin Lee to win the boys’ doubles gold.
Oxfordshire’s Ben Horseman paired with Dillon Chong, of Berkshire, to take bronze in the same event.
In the gold section, Bicester’s Anthony Peverell took the boys’ singles silver, losing narrowly in the final to Ireland’s Dylan Noble.
At the Yorkshire under-15s, Oxford’s Jamie Wakefield teamed up with the host county’s Sid Mehra to win the boys’ doubles gold, before pairing up with Lilly Mae Wood, also of Yorkshire, for silver in the mixed doubles.
