AN Oxford United staff member suffered a head injury at half-time of their 3-2 win over Portsmouth, says visiting boss Danny Cowley.
The interval was extended by about 20 minutes due to an ‘incident’ at the Kassam Stadium, with stewards seen rushing down the tunnel.
The players re-emerged at 4.25pm and the game eventually finished at about 5.20pm after ten minutes of stoppage-time were added on - with Nathan Holland scoring United's winner in the additional period.
After the match, both managers were asked about the reason for the delay and Cowley said a member of U’s staff needed hospital treatment.
“One of their support staff fell over and hit his head quite badly,” Cowley told Hampshire Live.
“I think he’s okay from what I’ve been told, which is good news. I just want to send our thoughts to him and his family."

U’s head coach Karl Robinson was reluctant to say too much about the incident, adding: “Someone fell and just banged their head. It was nothing, there was no tremendous malice in that.”
United won an entertaining game in thrilling fashion, with Cameron Brannagan equalising in the 82nd minute and Holland firing home the last-ditch winner.
