OXFORD United rejected two Blackpool bids for Cameron Brannagan in the final hours of the January transfer window.
The Sky Bet Championship club pursued the midfielder all month, although their interest appeared to have cooled as deadline day approached.
But Blackpool made two offers, one thought to be in the region of £800,000 followed by another that was understood to be £1m.
The second approach was the first seven-figure bid the Seasiders submitted yet the U’s turned down both bids for their influential No 8, who scored four penalties in Saturday’s 7-2 thrashing of Gillingham.

Meanwhile, United reportedly rejected a late bid for Mark Sykes from tonight’s opponents Wigan Athletic.
With less than four hours of the window remaining, Football Insider claimed the Latics had submitted an offer for the midfielder.
Sykes is out of contract this summer, so will leave for nothing at the end of June if he does not sign a new deal.
The 24-year-old is having a productive season, claiming eight goals and four assists, and was rumoured to be a target for Huddersfield Town earlier in the window.
