BLACKPOOL are set to recall Jordan Thorniley from his loan spell at Oxford United.
Lancs Live says the centre back is expected to return to the Tangerines after their quest to sign Cameron Brannagan stalled.
Thorniley joined United on a season-long loan in August and it is understood reports of a recall are accurate.
It comes after Blackpool wanted to include Thorniley in a player plus cash deal for Brannagan, only to find the two clubs’ valuations of the 25-year-old were different.

The Sky Bet Championship outfit were also understood to be unwilling to meet the seven-figure buyout clause in the midfielder’s contract, with their initial bid well short.
It could see Thorniley return to Blackpool before the weekend, having made 24 appearances for United this season.
The former Everton trainee is in the final year of his contract with the Seasiders, although the club have the option to extend by an extra 12 months.
United have three other senior centre backs on their books: Elliott Moore, Luke McNally and John Mousinho.
In terms of bolstering that position, the U’s have been linked with former transfer target Stuart Findlay, who plays for MLS side Philadelphia Union.
