OXFORD United have revealed how fans will be compensated for the late postponement of last month’s game at Wigan Athletic.

The Sky Bet League One fixture on November 20 was shelved three and a half hours before kick-off after seven U’s players tested positive for Covid.

It has since been rescheduled to Tuesday, February 1 (7.45pm).

The timing of the postponement meant many United fans were already in the north west or on their way to the game.

The club said from the outset it would find a way to compensate supporters and emailed those affected yesterday afternoon.

Fans who were the lead booker in their group will receive £20 on their ticketing account to spend on ‘any products across the OUFC tickets range’.

This will be uploaded after the home game against Cheltenham Town on New Year’s Day.

Additionally, anyone unable to attend on the new date of February 1 can contact United’s ticket office to arrange a refund if they have not already.

All tickets bought for the original game remain valid for the rescheduled fixture.

United have since had a fixture postponed due to Covid for the second time this season, with the Boxing Day clash at Portsmouth shelved last night following an outbreak in the home side’s squad.
