OXFORD United fans will not need a ‘Covid pass’ to attend Saturday’s clash with Wigan Athletic.
But the club will decide whether formal certification is required to attend matches at the Kassam Stadium on a ‘game-by-game basis’.
From today, fans attending fixtures where the crowd is 10,000 or more must show a recent negative lateral flow test or evidence of full vaccination.
This applies to the number of people attending the game, not the capacity of the venue.
That is why supporters will not need a Covid pass to attend United’s home game against Wigan, as the crowd is expected to be below 10,000.
The club have ‘strongly recommended’ that fans test before arriving and advised anyone with Covid symptoms to stay away.
They are also asking supporters to follow the ‘hands, face, space’ guidance to limit the spread of the virus.
United’s next home games after Saturday are against AFC Wimbledon and Cheltenham Town on December 29 and January 1 respectively.
These are unlikely to attract a crowd of 10,000, however the visit of Sheffield Wednesday on January 22 could be a five-figure attendance.
