THE Oxford Mail player ratings for Oxford United’s 2-1 win at Doncaster Rovers in Sky Bet League One.
SIMON EASTWOOD
Did not have much to do, with most of the action happening at the other end of the pitch. Would have needed a great save to stop the equaliser – 6
SAM LONG
Got in behind the Doncaster defence time and again in the first half, before sending in a great cross for Taylor’s disallowed goal. Won some important headers – 7
ELLIOTT MOORE
Did not have much defending to do until the second half, but was alert to the danger when called upon. Tidy in possession – 6.5
JORDAN THORNILEY
Tough ask for him to go 90 minutes after struggling with Covid. A night where he had more to do in possession than out of it, but put himself about – 6
STEVE SEDDON
Great energy up and down the left flank all game, especially after Doncaster equalised. Classy assist to set up Henry’s winning goal – 7.5
MARCUS MCGUANE
Started well, only to fade as United’s dominance waned. Some nice touches without having a big impact – 6
HERBIE KANE
All too easy for him, especially in the first half, and if Whyte and Taylor’s finishing had been better he would have had two assists. Occasionally sloppy in possession, though – 7.5
CAMERON BRANNAGAN
Contributed as much as anyone before he went off, but should have hit the target with at least one of his efforts on goal. United need him to be fit for Saturday – 7

GAVIN WHYTE
Great determination to set up Sykes for the opener and all-round play was generally good. Missed a big chance after the break – 6.5
MATTY TAYLOR
Did not have as much service as expected against a side in the relegation zone. Missed two late chances, the second of which was harder than it looked – 6
MARK SYKES
Great finish showed confidence is flowing in front of goal. Busy display was capped by his involvement in the winner. MAN OF THE MATCH – 7.5
