THE Oxford Mail player ratings for Oxford United's stalemate with Rotherham United.

CONNAL TRUEMAN

Did not have many saves to make, but commanded his area well. A few poor kicks were the only real negatives. The U's needed a calming presence in goal this week and he has provided it - 7

JAMIE HANSON

Miller had the better of him in the first half, before that tackle set the tone for a much-improved performance after the break. Showed great character to come back from that Bristol Rovers cameo - 8

LUKE MCNALLY

Titanic all game, similar to Elliott Moore's display at Burton Albion. Headed, blocked and tackled everything, including a late clearance off the line. It will be tough to drop him when everyone is back fit. MAN OF THE MATCH - 9

SAM LONG

Tuesday showed how much better he has become with the ball, but this was back to basics - and that suited him just fine. Stepped up to lead the back four brilliantly this week - 8.5

STEVE SEDDON

As against Ipswich Town, he showed how much of an asset he can be defensively. Took the shackles off in the second half and went close with a shot from range. BOOKED - 8

MARCUS MCGUANE

His first league start since January, so a good performance all things considering. Retained possession well, which was key in a game where United had less of the ball - 7

HERBIE KANE

So many times he would win a tackle and instantly put the U's on the front foot with a forward pass. His reading of the game is such an asset out of possession as well - 8.5

CAMERON BRANNAGAN

Worked hard and went toe-to-toe with a very good midfield. A lot of United's attacks went through him in the second half - 8

JAMES HENRY

Had to adapt his game and got stuck in. A little sloppy on the ball, which was the only disappointment - 6.5

GAVIN WHYTE

Never stopped running, although end product needed to be better. Strayed offside a couple of times, when a more seasoned striker would have held his run - 6.5

NATHAN HOLLAND

United’s most threatening front man, especially after the break. Did not get Edmonds-Green one-on-one enough, but when he did he looked dangerous - 7
