ETHAN Rose will have to wait for his first tournament with the England senior team after injury ruled him out of the Sudirman Cup.
The 18-year-old from Oakley, near Chinnor, was due to fly out to Finland with the national squad for the tournament, which starts this Sunday.
But he will now focus on returning to fitness in time for the Thomas Cup, starting on October 9 in Denmark and running for eight days.
The Sudirman Cup was due to be the first time Rose travelled with the England senior team, with the teenager having already reached No 4 in the world at Under 19 level.
England have been placed in Group D, with Japan, Malaysia and Egypt, and they have a similar group in Denmark.
They face Japan and Malaysia again in Group D, with Canada completing the quartet.
