OXFORD’S Zoe Pollock missed out on a place in the final at the European Athletics U23 Championships.
Pollock was unable to match the personal best she achieved in the heats for the women’s 400m hurdles semi-final in Tallinn.
Her time of 58.49 secs saw her finish fifth, not enough for a place in the final.
However, the Oxford City Athletic Club member remained positive about her overall championships experience.
She said: “It wasn’t the race I wanted but to come here and get a personal best in the heats is all I could have asked for, so I am going to take the positives.
“It is my first championships and it has been amazing.
“I have loved every minute of it.
“I can look forward to the relay and it’ll be fun to do something different to the hurdles.”
Pollock achieved the personal best on Thursday when she won her heat, which saw her automatically progress to the semi-final.
Her previous personal best came less than a fortnight ago at the British Championships in Manchester.
She stopped the clock at 57.47 to beat the European Under 23 qualifying time of 57.50 and book her place in Estonia.
