A YOUNG Oxford United side will visit Banbury United for a friendly later this month.
The U's take on The Puritans on Wednesday, July 21 (7.45pm), in only the second pre-season game that is open to their own fans.
Banbury are managed by Andy Whing, with Karl Robinson looking forward to pitting his wits against the ex-United midfielder.
The U's head coach told the club's official website: "Because we have a number of games behind closed doors this summer it gives people a chance to maybe see some of the youngsters in competitive action.
“I’ll take the team for that game and it’s one I’m sure plenty of fans will be looking forward to.”
Ticket details for the Banbury clash and the visit to Oxford City five days earlier are still to be announced.
The two games are the only chances U's fans will get to watch their side before the Sky Bet League One sason starts on August 7.
United will face Birmingham City at the Sky Bet Championship club's training ground on July 24, while a home 'double-header' against Peterborough United three days later is also behind closed doors.
Their final friendly, at Bristol Rovers on July 31, is welcoming home supporters only as it is a pilot event for the return of fans.
One more behind-closed-doors game will also take place.
