Didcot Town moved up to second in Division 1 South & West as they broke their derby hoodoo at Abingdon United yesterday.
Since they gained promotion, Didcot, whose boss Stuart Peace watched from the stands as he served the first of a two-match dugout ban, have never beaten their local rivals, but they made no mistake this time around.
Abingdon had to play the first four minutes with ten men after Michaes Herbert arrived late and they were never in the contest with a disappointing display.
Early on, Abingdon's Simon Tricker denied Michael Bartley, who proved a menace throughout, before Jack King opened the scoring following a weak punch from Tricker.
At the other end, Anaclet Odhiambo shot over after good work from Ryan Brooks.
Matty Jack doubled Didcot's lead with a cracking half-volley after Abingdon failed to clear.
Liam Hope almost made it 3-0, while only a superb challenge from Josh Cottrell prevented Bartley from scoring.
Richard Peirson headed over against his old club, before Tricker saved a King effort.
Didcot had a lucky escape when Jamie Heapy sliced a cross inches over his own bar.
A minute before the break, Witt drilled home No 3.
In the second half, Abingdon tried to get back in the game, while at the other end, Hope headed Andy Parrott's superb cross against the bar.
Lee Farrow, in for shoulder-injury victim Michael Watkins, then made a great save from Curtin after he burst through.
Abingdon substitute Andy Ballard headed over before Witt and Parrott fizzed a couple of chances high.
King made it 4-0 when he fired in Witt's cross.
Matt Bicknell blazed over, before Tricker twice denied Bartley.
Didcot sub Sam Elkins almost made it 5-0, with his first touch, but Tricker denied him with a great one-handed stop.
