Nicky Gordon scored his eighth goal of the season as Banbury United moved up to seventh in the British Gas Business Southern League Premier Division with a deserved derby win.
It also saw them move above their fierce rivals in front of a big crowd of 767.
Banbury dominated the first half and took the lead on 37 minutes when the former Woodford United striker fired home a left-foot shot after being set up by Scott Bridges.
Brackley offered little threat and it wasn't until the last ten minutes that they put any pressure on Banbury's defence, Tom Winters's 25-yarder hitting a post.
