Oxford United's prestigious friendly at home to the Guinea national team has been put back a year.
But United chairman Nick Merry says the team will still be going out to west Africa next summer to take on Guinea in their own country.
"They couldn't get all their players together to play us in January, but we'll still be going out to play them in the summer, and then there will hopefully be a fixture against them back here following that," Merry said this week.
The friendly at the Kassam Stadium had been planned for the start of January, but United now have a rearranged Blue Square Premier game at home to Weymouth on Tuesday, January 8.
The U's are then without a game on Saturday, January 12, but the Weymouth game can not be moved to the Saturday because the Terras are still involved in the FA Trophy, which takes place that weekend.
