Without a game last Sunday, Oxford United Ladies decided it was a great opportunity to get out in to the community as a team and raise some money for the club.
They are a self-supported club funded by subs from the players, which has to go towards funding everything from equipment, training sessions and facilities, matchday pitch hire, referees' fees and a whole host of other expenses.
So, on their weekend off, the team took part in bag-packing at the Heyford Hill Sainsburys in Oxford, helping out the busy shoppers while collecting donations.
Kitted out with Christmas hats and buckets, the ladies had a successful day which saw members of both the first and reserve teams as well as the entire coaching staff eagerly offering help at the tills.
Manager Paul Davies was delighted with the team's enthusiasm, and that of the Sainsburys customers, who were very generous.
The girls raised about £350 from the venture.
