Heartbreaking news to hear we have lost an @OUFCOfficial legend overnight.

It says it all when the man was so humble, insisting that he didn’t want a fuss or for anyone to know.
Mickey Lewis may you rest in peace #oufc #ripmaddog pic.twitter.com/bPPqZoY42W
RIP Mickey lewis, he was a proper genuine, down to earth guy who was very passionate about @OUFCOfficial and funny to say to say the least. Taught me football isn’t just about ability too! He’ll be missed. Oh and he love the strongest hottest tea in the world 😅😂 what a guy! RIP

He had an infectious enthusiasm and was a joy to be around. The warm tributes elsewhere say it all - one of the good guys gone far too soon.
When we can all get together again he deserves a big send-off.

Not just one of the best men in football, but one of the very best men. I'll always remember the times we had at OUFC, travelling the length of the Football League, touring the USA, playing cricket. Hard to come to terms with. A true @OUFCOfficial legend. RIP Mickey Lewis. https://t.co/iHmhaku8RD

Mickey Lewis was, for a while, Mr Oxford United.

I had the pleasure of sharing a cricket field with him once or twice & he was as competitive then as he was in any tackle on the football pitch, which is where he’ll be remembered by so many.
Rip 🕊 Mickey Lewis. Helped through my development at college and will be missed. Thoughts go out to his family 🖤
