City of Oxford Bulls clung on to top spot in Division 3 of the Wessex Masters League with a hard-fought 3-2 win over Newbury Vets at Oxford Brookes.
The visitors went ahead from a short corner and although Dave Oakley equalised, Newbury netted again.
Just before half-time, Steve Curnock converted a penalty flick to make it 2-2.
The game looked like set for a draw, but Paul Scragg popped up five minutes from time with the winner.
Oxford Hawks 3rd lost 5-0 to High Wycombe 3rd in a rescheduled South League Open Division 1 game.
Annette Cooper hit a hat-trick as City of Oxford hammered Henley 10-0 in the Oxon Under 16 Girls League.
Olivia Hinga (2), Christine Langstone (2), Millie Herbert, Laura Gardner and Eliza Knight got the other goals.
