Oxford Harlequins director of rugby Matt Maudsley felt their change of tactics had paid dividends in the second half against Weston.
Maudsley said: "In the first half, the ball scrum half Anthony Cope was getting was patchy.
"We needed to secure it properly.
"They were defending the inside channels really well, so we had to use the outside channels.
"Once we got on top that allowed Anthony to get the backs working a bit.
"I also thought we played with a bit more passion in the second half.
"To beat Weston 21-6 is good. It is only Bracknell that have beaten them by more this season.
"That ten-minute period midway through the second half was the big difference. We scored our points and then defended really well."
