BRANDON Barker was delighted to get off the mark and make the difference for the first time in an Oxford United shirt.
The Rangers loanee played the first half in the defeat to Doncaster Rovers, before being withdrawn for Mide Shodipo.
However, the wide player made a more telling impact last night, coming off the bench to seal the points in an impressive half hour cameo.
He displayed flashes of skill and end product, with his goal sealing the points.

“It was one of them games where it wasn’t really pretty but we did everything we could to get the three points,” he said.
“When you come to a new club, you want to get your first goal out the way.
“Thankfully I did that and it was a sigh of relief as at the end of the game we were under a bit of pressure.
“I tried to get it on my left and hit it as hard as I can – it was nice to get a goal but the three points are more important.”
Despite not being at their best, United put their loss at the Keepmoat Stadium behind them.
Barker said: “There was signs of frustration from Saturday and we had to take it out on the opposition.
“We played really well on Saturday but we just didn’t get the result.”
Looking ahead to the remainder of the season, Barker said he wants to get back playing regularly.

“I want to bring my experience of being on a winning side, which I have been for the last couple of years, and enjoy my football here,” he said.
“The standard of training is very good, I’m just here to help and do what I can to give Oxford a real big push.
“I’m happy to be back on the pitch, it’s been a while since I played and started matches.
“As long as I’m on the pitch, I’ll always go looking for the ball and make things happen, and chip in with goals and assists.”
