Forum A strengthened their hold on top spot in Division 1 of the Oxford & District Table Tennis League with an 8-2 victory over Bicester A.

Andy Lebutt had a tough debut for Bicester, losing out to Karl Bushell, but had the consolation of beating Greg Boone 13-11 in the fifth, and Fraser Harris.

Second-placed Rutherford also enjoyed an 8-2 win, Lord Nuffield B their opponents, while Ellis Bicknell recorded a maximum and won the doubles with Harry Yeates to allow Forum B to draw with Bicester A.

In Division 2, Vikings B lost 6-4 to Begbroke A, and are now level on points with their conquerors at the top.

Janet Brown was forced into the deciding game in all three sets, and won them all for Begbroke, but super-sub Jan Curtis stole the show twice turning defeat into victory.

Haddenham A pipped Gladiators 6-4 as both Alan Cornish and Mark Scott won fifth-set deciders.

Neil Hughes made a spectacular return to competitive play by winning all three for Forum C as they beat Lord Nuffield C 8-2.

Mike Watts won both for Lord Nuffied with wins over John Duncalfe and Chris Williams.

Vikings D top Division 3 after beating Forum E 7-3, despite a maximum for Forum's Sam Harrison.

Paul Guest collected his first maximum of the season for St James B against Bicester B, but could not stop his team going down 7-3.

Forum F continue to dominate Division 4 - hammering Haddenham B 10-0.

The Development Competition looks a two-horse race between Forum L and J.
