Abingdon took the lead in this BGB Southern League Division 1 South & West clash when Anaclet Odhiambo pounced on a defensive header and scored from 14 yards in the 14th minute.
The home side struck back in the 32nd minute with Justin Bennett's first goal when he latched on to a through ball and put it away from 18 yards.
In the 56th minute, Bennett scored a penalty for his second goal and he completed his hat-trick four minutes later.
Abingdon's Ryan Brooks was tripped in the area in the 69th minute, and Odhiambo scored a retaken penalty after the keeper had moved off his line.
Within two minutes, Gosport's Andy Puckett fired the ball into the net.
With six minutes left, Brooks pulled a goal back as he swept the ball home from ten yards, but he fired wide in the dying seconds.
