North Oxford's Alan Bateman took his second Oxford Division Angling Times Winter League match of the season when he won the fifth round on Grand Union Canal at Aylesbury on Sunday.
The recent milder weather helped produce a better match than the previous weeks, although the stiff winds did prove costly for some of the 59-strong field who lost pole sections or broke umbrellas.
Alan put a level 10.0.0 on the scales, two reasonable sized bream caught on chopped worm and caster, plus some decent skimmers which took bunches of bloodworm.
In second was Henry Golas (Isis Oxford), who was just four ounces beind with 9.12.0 of skimmers and roach on bloodworm over joker.
Third place went to Gary Barclay (Oxford Drennan) who fished bread punch all day to present 9.9.0 to the scalesman, made up of mainly roach with a few skimmers.
Isis Oxford had a good day and gave themselves a good chance of a semi-final spot as they topped the field with 47 points, just pushing Oxford Drennan in second.
Teams on day: Isis Oxford 47, Oxford Drennan 46, Sensa A4 40, Garbolino Banbury Gunsmiths 32, North Oxford 23, Chipping Norton 21.
League to date: Sensa A4 10, Oxford Drennan 14, Isis Oxford 15, Garbolino Banbury Gunsmiths 16, Chipping Norton 21, North Oxford AS 28

Lechlade Marina was the scene for Witney's BDG Christmas Match, where the Thames had a nice colour for the 17 matchmen, but was rising after the heavy rainfall.
There was plenty of fish around and everyone caught.
Les Tibbetts (RS Baits), with 20.6.0 of perch, took the honours. He fished the pole at 10m and used either caster or worm over chop for perch up to 2lb.
Sat next to him was Brian Bowerman, who also got among the big perch, putting 15.3.0 of them on the scales for second place. Caster and worm were again the baits used.
In third place was Mick Madden, who fished at 4m under a boat with maggot and worm for 11.8.0 of perch.
Another club staging a Christmas Match was Yarnton & District AC, who had a very good turnout of 15 members at Great Rollright.
Jamie Godfrey fished the pole at around 11m with maggot to tempt 15 carp, including a couple of decent fish, to bag the turkey with 20.2.0.
Tony Wright (Predator) had to settle for the chicken as he could only manage 16.10.0 of small carp for second place, also on the pole at 3m with maggot.
In third place was Nick Collier with 13.10.0 of small carp taken on the maggot-feeder.
The canal at Frenchay Road in Oxford fished very well for the eight Dorchester rods fishing their latest inter-league match.
Feeding liquidised bread and then punch over the top, Lol Budd caught roach and skimmers throughout the match for a winning 13.14.0.
In second place with a net of perch going 7.4.0 was Ian Smith, fishing maggot over chop, followed by Basil Rosier with 5.6.0.
Sutton Courtenay were on the Thames at Abingdon for their Lawson Cup, and the river did the 11 anglers few favours.
Winning his first-ever match was Enzo Granito with one bream weighing 3.10.0 on groundbait feeder with red maggot on the hook.
Gary Stafford also had a bream worth 2.2.0 on maggot/worm cocktail for second place, while a perch of 1.7.0 taken on the worm gave Brian Thomas third.
Seventeen anglers turned out for Masons' Teams of Three on the canal at Pigeon Lock down, but they all found it very hard work.
Pegged near the lock, Pete Armstrong caught small roach, perch and gudgeon on whip and pinkie for a winning 1.15.0.
Martin Robinson was second with 1.11.0 of bits on bloodworm over joker, while third with one bite and one fish was Bill Gray. The fish was a roach of 0.11.0, and it took a red maggot.
