TOMORROW’S game will be Wigan Athletic’s first since a change of management, but Oxford United are having to prepare as if John Sheridan was still in charge.

Leam Richardson and Gregor Rioch, formerly the assistant manager and head of academy respectively, were placed in temporary charge after Sheridan left for Swindon Town.

With no game last weekend, the Latics have had a week to work behind the scenes.

And the absence of new information means United have to do their homework on the previous regime.

Head coach Karl Robinson said: “You have to. There might be a tactical change that we can’t prepare for and they would have had in-house games.

“Leam, who will probably be taking the team, will have them in good shape and will know they want to play for him.

“But we also know on any given day they have players who can really hurt you.”

Both teams are struggling for form and in need of a boost.

“It can be the perfect one for the winning team,” Robinson said.

“You just have to make sure it’s you, because it can be a really good platform moving forward.”
